Supply chain project on cards News Story - 19 Nov 2009 ( #437 ) - Canberra, ACT, Australia 1 min read The Australian Logistics Council (ALC) plans to launch a major project to produce an industry position on matters relating to sustainable business models for Australian organisations that comprise national supply chains.The Future Supply Chain 2020 Project will be run over two stages in conjunction with the Australian Freight Councils Network (AFCN) and the Transport & Logistics Centre (TALC).Stage one will be the development of a report, with stage two being the public consultation on recommendations and actions.The basis for the development of Australian Supply Chain models will be the Global Commerce Initiative's (GCI) European and North American discussion paper on Future Supply Chain: 2016. It focuses on the new kind of business models needed to accommodate the challenges in the next decade, including economic, ecological, demographic, technology and other changes.
