Gerry Johnstone has been appointed general manager, port development, for the Port of Brisbane Corporation (PBC), a role he has acted in since July last year.

Mr Johnstone was previously PBC's senior manager, business development, and before joining PBC was Queensland manager of the Association of Employers of Waterside Labour.

"Gerry has extensive experience in waterfront industrial relations and human resources, and is well qualified to take on this key role as the leader of our largest division," PBC chief executive Jeff Coleman said.
