A WA scrap metal recycler has added a second Manitou MI as the model marks 10,000 worldwide sales.

Mel Valentine, manager of Runabout Metals in Canning, purchased a Manitou MI 45 G to help with the efficiency of the warehouse. The MI 45 G is a gas-propelled forklift with a 4.5 T capacity.

He was so pleased with the MI 45 G that he went on to purchase the MI 30 G .

Both machines offer adjustable and accessible controls, optimal visibility, ease of maintenance, robustness and reliability.

Mel in particular liked the efficiency of the machine, stating that the MIs are "one of the best forklifts he has driven". Equipped with a honeycomb roof, it provides excellent all-round visibility for safely performing operations. The manoeuvrability provided by its inching pedal for approaching loads ensures great accuracy of movement, in particular for raised loads of up to 3 m.

The model was launched in the Australian market in 2013 and the parent company recently confirmed its global sales milestone of 10,000 MEs/MIs.
