Logitrans Denmark and Nationwide Handling are closing Logitrans UK LTD, with all sales and administration of the Danish branded products in the UK to be overseen by Logitrans Denmark.

Logitrans Denmark president Erling Pedersen says the closure will "optimise sales and service of Logitrans finished products in the UK market".

Logitrans Denmark will play a role in product sales while Nationwide Handling will focus on service, technical support and parts sales.

"Our dealers will benefit from our high quality product range within materials handling equipment and our specialised knowledge in tailor-made customer solutions," Pedersen says.

UK dealers will now deal directly with the factory in Denmark.

Logitrans is unable to disclose how much it will save from the closure, but says it experienced a drop in UK sales during the global economic recession.

No UK jobs were lost in the change-over, according to the company.

Sales director Gitte Kirkegaard says: "We have employees here [in Denmark] to take care of the UK dealers and we believe we can give them a high level of service as we have many competent people here who know the UK dealers."

The Danish company offers solutions for "all imaginable transport jobs and all handling needs", with items handled including pallets, drums, reels and boxes.
