LiuGong's new British dealer Construction Plant & Machinery Sales Ltd has sold machinery to end users.

Guangxi LiuGong Machinery Co Ltd has appointed Portsmouth, UK-based Construction Plant & Machinery Sales Ltd as an exclusive dealer for LiuGong in Britain's south region.

LiuGong Europe marketing manager Sander Gesink tells Forkliftaction.com News other dealers are being considered for the northern region of England and Ireland.

"The UK is a big country where coverage is very important. Customers would like to have their dealer in close distance of their business. But first we will focus on the southern region."

Gesink adds that the customer base of Construction Plant & Machinery Sales Ltd will be served from its headquarters in Portsmouth and depot in London.

Although the company was only officially appointed in the first week of May, Chinese media reported that it has already placed orders for 50-odd sets of machinery, covering a wide range of LiuGong products, including wheel loaders, excavators and forklifts.

The numbers are not confirmed by LiuGong. However, Gesink says the new dealer did indeed sell to end-customers.

He reiterates: "We need to grow our network in the UK to achieve better coverage. The products itself are acceptable for the UK. They are easy to operate and maintain. They offer value for money, for example, for rental companies or larger fleet owners."
