Around 230 items of Linde materials handling equipment are in use at IGA's central warehouse and distribution centre in Crestmead, which supplies around 940 outlets with perishables and general groceries.

The facility, which conducts more than 45,000 pallet movements and loads more than 3,500 trucks a week, has recently taken delivery of a fleet of Linde's N series order pickers, designed with operator safety as paramount.

The order pickers provide the operator with a centre ride position where they are fully enclosed. When operators need to leave the compartment to pick up cartons, they can only walk alongside the unit, never in front of it.

Other features include the low step height, adjustable back support, power steering and ergonomic operating position.
