There are a few themes in this week's news, but one of the most significant ones is the positive financial results from some of the biggest players on both sides of the Atlantic.
It appears that demand for materials handling equipment is high and order books are bursting at the seams.
But there's also a potential cloud looming - and that's the threat of American tariffs. When we spoke to manufacturers and importers at MODEX, there was some concern about the impact of President Trump's threatened imposts - not just among the Chinese suppliers, but also among US manufacturers who will feel the pinch. The overwhelming message was that free trade is good, restricted trade is bad - for everyone.
And it will be especially bad for a sector that has at last thrown off the shackles of the GFC and started making real progress.
