The US-based Equipment Leasing and Finance Association shares some interesting predictions this week, based on its experience from the USD1 trillion equipment finance sector.
One of the key forecasts is that capital spending will reach record levels this year, which is good news for materials handling equipment suppliers. One reason for the surge is corporate tax cuts in the US. It also believes new technology will be very appealing as businesses look for ways to increase efficiencies and profitability.
But it may not be all plain sailing. ELFA warns of possible interest rate rises, slower residential housing market growth and possible labour shortages if curbs on immigration go ahead.
So, interesting times ahead in the United States ...
