Unfortunately, reports of forklift-related deaths are not uncommon, and this week, we cover a UK court decision following the crushing death of a worker in 2014. Australian readers will also find a report about a local forklift death in Mackay.
The risks are heightened at this time of the year, especially as the retail sector steps up a gear and logistics is put under increased pressure. Not only is there more work and increased activity, but there is also a risk of concentration lapses as workers put in longer hours - and start thinking about holidays and the upcoming festive season.
In the words of an '80s TV show, "let's be careful out there ..."
