For those who thought the impact of technology on materials handling was limited to transmissions, power sources and safety sensors, the latest MHI Industry Report would be a real wake-up call.
The report, covered in this week's newsletter, shows the increasing convergence of computing, the Internet, automation and analytics with supply chains.
This means forklifts that are smarter, autonomous and more connected.
It also means that all organisations involved in logistics, materials handling and supply chain optimisation need to be aware of these disruptors and conscious of the demands for improved customer service and cost efficiencies.
