Chinese President Xi Jinping

This week in Forkliftaction News we talk with four Chinese forklift manufacturers about their aspirations for a burgeoning export market and what the introduction of additional US tariffs will mean for their business models.

At the time of our deadline, a new additional 10% tariff on goods imported from China into the US had come into effect. While there had been some reports US President Donald Trump would meet with China’s President Xi Jinping to discuss the tariffs, there has been no plan announced to do so.

Tariffs of 25% on US imports of goods from Mexico and Canada have been put on hold, pending talks between the nations.

The introduction and pausing of tariffs on US imports is a quickly moving landscape. We will do our best to keep readers informed of how these developments may impact the materials handling sector.
