Our thoughts and prayers go out to the communities along the US East Coast as they face the perils of another hurricane.
But at times like these, it is also heartening to be part of an industry that not only cares for its own, but also for the broader interests of society. In particular, we salute the American Logistics Aid Network (ALAN), which has sprung into action to prepare for the carnage that can follow these natural disasters.
Past experience has shown the importance of preparation and staying alert, and ALAN is leading the charge to keep communities informed and prepared for it - and it will no doubt be on hand to co-ordinate the clean-up after any damage.
We hope that those in the path of the hurricane stay safe.
