Editor Allan Leibowitz comments on the news of the week
There was clearly plenty of negotiation behind the scenes in preparation for one of the biggest shake-ups in US dealer history. As we report this week, NMHG has just announced a redistribution of dealer areas for Hyster and Yale in the wake of Dougherty Equipment Company's exit from the market, with half a dozen dealerships affected.
It's a complex arrangement which is a work in progress as dealerships have yet to break their ties with competing brands they currently represent.
For all involved, there will be some interesting challenges ahead, but, more importantly, some significant opportunities.
