Jury members inspect a finalist |
New products and solutions from 15 manufacturers were subjected to expert comparison and hands-on testing from experienced forklift drivers and a jury of international logistics and materials handling journalists at the annual IFOY Test Days at the Hannover exhibition grounds in Germany.
The solutions from Bosch Rexroth, cellumation, Combilift, Crown, doks.innovation, EasyMile, ForkOn, Geek+, Hyster, Jungheinrich, ProGlove, Raymond, Sany Europe, Still and Wiferion underwent a whole week of elaborate, multi-stage testing.
The finalists were critically tested by an official tester, a team of scientists and the 27 international jurors.
At the same time, more than 310 visitors from 19 nations participated in the expanded test program that for the first time included an end-user Test Camp attended by representatives of BMW, Dachser, Rewe, Porsche and Kühne + Nagel, among others.
The official IFOY test process includes a standard protocol comprising around 80 criteria such as economy and energy efficiency, sustainability, safety and ergonomics of the nominees. In the second part of the audit, the IFOY Innovation Check was carried out by scientists from Fraunhofer IML and the Technical Universities of Dresden and Munich. These results will be shared in our newsletter in coming weeks.
The jury members, trade journalists from all over the world, not only received all results of the IFOY Test and the scientific IFOY Innovation Check for their voting, but also had the opportunity to test the nominated machines in the test areas of the exhibition hall and to speak to representatives of the manufacturers.
Forkliftaction News editor Allan Leibowitz was one of the judges.
