Forklift professionals from the ASEAN region met recently in Malaysia for the ASEAN Forklift Entrepreneur Golf (AFEG) event.

The two-day meeting marked the sixth anniversary of the tournament started in 2010 as an annual golf tournament between forklift entrepreneurs from Malaysia and Thailand.

"The main purpose of this annual event is to create the right exposure and to foster a better business relationship amongst the forklift people of ASEAN countries whilst indulging the game of golf. The golf tournament is a team event played between Team Thailand and Team Malaysia over two days of golf; and both Thailand and Malaysia take turns to host this annual tournament," says Daniel Wong, a representative of the organising committee.

The inaugural tournament was held in Bangkok, Thailand.

This year, 80 people from the forklift industry participated in two rounds of golf. Participants came from Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam, Laos, the Philippines, Australia, England and the Netherlands.

The event wrapped up with an awards dinner which saw Malaysia claim team honours and C.H Lim (also from Malaysia) win the individual champion title.

Next year's event will be held in Thailand.
