Thursday, 25 April 2024 (London, UK) – Leaders from SeaCo, Container xChange, Copeland, and Drewry, are among the international speakers confirmed to lead a three-day agenda of talks at Intermodal Asia 2024, inspired by this year’s conference theme “Finding Success Through Collaboration”.

Taking place 22 – 24 May 2024 at SWEECC, Shanghai, the Intermodal Asia conference will lead attendees through a series of fascinating sessions surrounding the future of intermodal transport (including current trends), sustainability, AI, and technology. A number of international speakers have been revealed so far, including:

  • Damian Leech, CIO, SeaCo
  • Christian Roeloffs, CEO, Container xChange
  • Lissa D'Arcy, Customer Relations Manager, Copeland
  • Tal Leemor, VP of Marketing & Partnerships - Hoopo
  • Erik Lund, Managing Director - Maritime & Logistics, Nexxiot
  • Kelly Chen, Head of Strategic Supply, Freightos
  • Tim Power, Managing Director, Drewry

“From the demands of a growing global population, to the emergence of new AI driven tech, along with ongoing disruption to maritime routeways such as the Red Sea and the Panama Canal the intermodal transport industry finds itself facing both new challenges and exciting opportunities,” said Bonnie Cliff, Conference Producer at Intermodal Asia.

“This year’s conference has once again been shaped in consultation with our long-standing partner China Container Industry Association and will provide visitors with an exciting opportunity to learn from renowned experts on the most important trends that will shape the future of our industry. In particular, I’m hugely looking forward to our Innovation Spotlight session, where two pioneering companies will reveal how they have reimagined the potential of the shipping container with a heavy focus on achieving key sustainability goals,” added Cliff.

The three-day programme of talks is free to attend, and will feature a range of keynotes, panel discussions, and case studies, offering an insight into both the local Asian market and the global industry.

Event speaker Tal Leemor, VP of Marketing & Partnerships at Hoopo, shared an insight into what visitors can expect from the eagerly anticipated Global Market Outlook keynote: “During this session, we will delve into the global outlook for integrating new technologies within the intermodal industry, focusing on how real-time asset visibility generates data to drive efficiency and shape the sector's future. Additionally, we will tackle the industry's main challenges and opportunities, including infrastructure limitations, regulatory complexities, and evolving customer expectations. Our discussions will explore the effectiveness of forging new alliances and implementing standardisation initiatives as strategies for overcoming these challenges and fostering sustainable growth within the intermodal ecosystem.”

The conference programme at Intermodal Asia will run alongside an international tradeshow, which will offer thousands of visitors representing the intermodal and container shipping industry with a platform to meet world-class suppliers.

Intermodal Asia will take place 22 – 24 May 2024 at Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center (SWEECC) in Shanghai, China. It is organised in partnership with China’s leading container association, China Container Industry Association (CCIA) and benefits from support of the world’s largest container manufacturer, China International Marine Containers (CIMC).
