Joe Williams' death is being investigated

A Brisbane man, about to become a father, was killed in a forklift accident in Middlemount in Central Queensland.

Joe Williams, 35, was driving the forklift along a road, three hours north-west of Rockhampton, when the vehicle rolled and trapped his leg.

It is understood he had taken the forklift from his workplace and was driving it to nearby football grounds when the crash occurred.

He was treated at the scene in a critical condition but later died from his injuries, according to officials.

As investigations into the incident continue, close friends and family have started multiple fundraisers to support his partner and soon-to-be-born daughter.
