Birmingham Post recognises Bendi
REDDITCH, United KingdomArticulated forklift manufacturer Translift Bendi is the September winner of the Birmingham Post Business Award.
Translift Bendi now manufactures about 70 forklifts a month but plans to double this with a GBP500,000 (USD1.02 million) investment at its Pagets Lane factory (
Forkliftaction.com News #322).
Managing director Simon Brown says:
"We are itching to get started because demand is so high.
"Once the new facility is fully operational, we are looking at increasing production to between 120 and 150 forklifts a month by the end of 2008. The expansion could also pave the way for around 20 new jobs, increasing the workforce to around 130 people."
Company chairman Fred Brown, who designed the Bendi forklift, was in Hoar Cross Hall in Staffordshire last week to receive the award.

Norco Group wins Northern Star
ABERDEEN, United KingdomBattery specialist Norco Group has won the Northern Star 'best use of ICT' award for its asset tracking software, Norco RMS.
Stephen Neilson, Microsoft's small business development manager and one of the judges, says Norco has demonstrated "innovative use of technology" to gain competitive advantage.
The awards are run by the Aberdeen and Grampian Chamber of Commerce.
Konecranes USA gets nod for safety
HYVINKÄÄ, FinlandKonecranes Region Americas has won an American National Safety Council (ANSC) award for the fifth consecutive year.
The company was selected to receive the "Occupational Safety Excellence" award for 2006 because of its "better than industry average" injury record.
ANSC's annual awards banquet is on October 16 in Chicago, USA.
