Mujin is recruiting for its new Netherlands facility
Robotic automation company Mujin is expanding in Europe with a new office in the Netherlands.
The company, founded in Tokyo in 2011, already has offices in China and the U.S.
The expansion is funded by a USD85 million Series C funding round.
Mujin Europe chief executive officer Lukasz Drewnowski says: “We already have many partners in Europe for whom our close presence will certainly make collaboration even easier. The European market is very mature and customers expect very high standards. We feel that Mujin is a perfect fit to meet these requirements and will become the number one choice for local customers.”
Mujin's intelligent robotic solutions include TruckBot, Random Palletising, Depalletising and Bin Picking.
Mujin is currently recruiting salespeople and engineers for the new office.
Platinum Truck and Equipment named Manitou dealer

Platinum Truck and Equipment will now offer Manitou products
Father-son business Platinum Truck and Equipment has been named a North American Manitou dealer.
Platinum Truck and Equipment was founded in Hooksett, New Hampshire, in 2020 by Tim Beauregard and his son Keston Beauregard.
“It gives me great pleasure to announce our partnership with Manitou Group," says Beauregard Snr, Platinum Truck and Equipment president.
"The decision was easy for me to make because both companies share the same vision of providing quality equipment and service at a fair price.

Platinum will now offer a selection of Manitou equipment, including skid steers, telehandlers, track loaders, boom lifts and forklifts.
Liz Richards Scholarship applications open

The Material Handling Equipment Distributors Association (MHEDA) is calling for applications to the Liz Richards Scholarship, named in honour of the organisation’s outgoing chief executive.
The Liz Richards Scholarship Fund, sponsored by MHEDA, offers two to three scholarships per year, each worth USD5,000, to undergraduate students whose studies have a focus on material handling, logistics and/or supply chain management.
The scholarships are open to undergraduates studying industrial engineering, industrial distribution, mechanical and electrical engineering, structural engineering with a focus on cold-formed steel design, engineering technology, computer science related to material handling and supply chain and business and management related to material handling or supply chain management.
Dachser USA opens second Atlanta warehouse

The new Atlanta warehouse has space for 16,500 pallets
German logistics company Dachser has opened a second warehouse in Atlanta, its fourth multi-user warehouse in the United States.
The 130,000 sq.ft (12,077 sqm) warehouse has space for 16,500 pallets and uses Dachser’s warehouse management system, Mikado.
The new warehouse is near major highways and interstates, less than 5 miles (8 km) from Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport and the ports of Mobile (Alabama), Charleston (South Carolina) and Savannah (Georgia) are all within a five-hour driving radius.
“With the opening of the dedicated warehouse in Atlanta, we grow our nationwide network and increase our footprint in the Southeast of the United States,” says Thorsten Schoenwetter, Director Logistics Product for the Americas region at Dachser.
