ASPIN has launched BPD (Battery Plus Devices) in the material handling industry market. The major role of BPD is to extend the life of lead acid battery as a dominant power source. BPD has been studied for seven years through development, lab models, and field trial tests. The Lead Acid Battery is the main core of the power source for fork lifts.

BPD has 16 models such as 12 V, 24 V, 36 V and 48V. The Ampere Our voltage level for these models is available up to 2000Amp-Hr. However, if a customer has a special fork lift, we can make an additional model which provides its suitable Amp-Hr and voltage, even up to 75 volts.

Although used batteries are charged, they cannot be charged up to full saturation. In other words, they will never be 100% charged. Tests show that there is only a maximum limit of 65% charge for batteries that are purchased for at least three years.

The people who attend exhibition show regarding material handling equipment, also known as operators, show a keen interest in a specific battery. This battery is rated as first priority among 25% of the products at the material handling industry. This means that operators are not always satisfied with Gell type and Sealed type lead acid battery that they currently use.

As of now, BPD is the one and only device in the world which is able to extend the life of a battery by three times. It has been proved by field test and already spread and installed fork lift. The number is around 25,000 units by end of 2005 yr. This device always detects the status of the surface plate on each cell and provides its data to the micro-processor. Then a CPU can control the battery's strength of power. Thus, the controlled strength of power can distill off the impurities and as a result, the specific gravity number of battery is changed to a higher number towards a renewable battery. After 3 to 4 weeks, the used, old battery is gradually changed into an almost new battery. For example, according to recent field testing of BPD on NISSAN Reach Trucks, its operation time has been increased from 4 hrs on the 1st day to 9 ½ hrs on the 13th day.

Normally, regular lead acid battery in a fork lift can be used without a problem up to three (3) years. However, after 3 years, the continuous working hour capability usually downed 50% such as changing from about 2 hrs to 4 ½ hrs. Sometimes, there are instances when the battery itself needs to be replaced with a new battery for the fork lift to properly work. However, if BPD is installed on the existing battery, this situation will not occur again. It means that there is no need to have spare batteries on a shelf in case of a malfunction.

BPD only works when it is linked with a battery charger. And after 2 to 3 weeks, the used battery's specific gravity number will greatly increase into a brand new battery. However, BPD is not a battery charger. It does not have its own power source; thus, it is always used safely.

The other models of BPD are widely used on Automobiles, Buses, Trucks, and Golf Carts. Additionally, another special advantage of using BPD is that there is a decrease in fuel usage by12% on Gasoline and 5% on Diesel. This fact was proven by testing from North American markets.
