Product Management is a combination of the planning, forecasting, and marketing of products at all stages of their lifecycle. The role here consists of product understanding, product marketing and competitive analysis which are different (yet complementary) efforts, with the objective of maximizing sales revenues, market share, and profit margins. The product manager is responsible for knowing the product inside and out, understanding competitive offerings & market conditions, and helping define & articulate unique features or functions of the offering.

The product manager's focus is on managing existing product life cycle (including quality, suggested pricing & market share and driving new concepts, product improvements, and next generation products. Superior and differentiated new products, ones that deliver unique benefits and superior value to the customer, are the number one driver of success & product profitability.
Requirements / Skills
1. Focuses on clearly defining product attributes and branding, in addition to continuously improving overall product breadth, quality and reliability, through process and/or product modifications that maximize business value from products targeted by company strategy.
2. Supports sales teams for quoting industrial vehicle attachment requests aligned with customer specs, with essential information on specific use of products. Internally own the process from receiving an RFQ from the field to quickly responding with technically accurate quotes that meet the spec and directly yet efficiently address the customer need
3. Read specs & understand drawings, research customer needs, and recommend the optimal product to provide a direct solution addressing the specific customer need
4. Investigates customer requirements, resolving product problems to foster long-term alliances. Ensures product deliveries meet customer expectations
5. Identifies new business opportunities for market and/or account penetration, implements agreed-to plans, and ensures goals are met or exceeded
6. With Marketing, assess and plan approaches to markets and applications for company technology and products, understand customer needs, and develop sales materials for collateral, web sites and tradeshows.
7. With Engineering and Operations, owns product specifications, and participates in product development planning and execution, often as a leader or member of cross-functional teams
8. Monitor and report on product line performance and take the lead to standardize frequently ordered ETO & custom made products
9. Participates in major project selling efforts through sales support, proposal preparation and product management presentations.
10. Works with those responsible for maintaining product approvals, standards and approval body presence
11. Supports supply-chain efforts to understand market trends, ensure the right product is available at the right time and place while minimizing potential inventory obsolescence
12. Creates sales tools and training documents from gathered information by product group to assist sales teams in learning and internalizing product attributes & benefits.
13. Work with Engineering & Operations to find ways of reducing cost from product
