Hyster H80C:
Won’t start

Hello.
Faulty head gasket, replaced the head gasket. Head machined. Won't run on forklift gas. Will run on ether. Engine is a Continental 6 cyl. ( side valve)
Replaced Impco model J and won't start. Tested the model J and it operates if low suction is applied on its outlet with no connection on the inlet. When I connect 100 psi air on the inlet I am unable to use low suction on the outlet to get it to operate!?
Any ideas / help would be greatly appreciated. Regards

Thank you for your reply. Currently waiting on delivery of a compression tester. Fuel lock bypassed for testing and definite vacuum when cranking and placing hand over carburettor intake.
Will update asap. Regards.

Sounds like you're not getting vacuum to draw the propane into the carberator. Did you check the compression after you did the head gasket just to make sure you have correct compression. Also when cranking if you put your hand over the carberator hole do you feel it trying to draw on your hand if not l would think that your not getting vacuum. Does it have electric fuel lock or vacuum. Also check make sure governed plate is not stuck closed.and that the carberator diaphragm is not stuck down in the carberator.
