Hi Everyone,
I have a TM15S (1980 24volt)that take off like a snail, and when the double contractor kicks in it hauls butt(jumps)for a second, but then drops out like it over loads. The happen's in both forward and reverse. Up on blocks everything works as it should. It seems like a thermal trip? I'm stumped on where to start! Any help sou be appreciated.
I bought a service manual from holt out of California for $148. It only has wear troubleshooting in the hydraulic section. It has repair and diagnostics, but I would have to disassemble everything?

I'm sorry if I missed some info but, if you identify the system, you can go to the Flight Systems website and get the troubleshooting manual for it. I assume it's a GE system. If it's Cableform, so sorry.
Sounds like you have a shorted #2 rec (snubber). Small block like assembly connected to white and red gate wire. (Hate to see unresolved threads, hope this helps someone moving forward).
You're going to have to explain better. Do the contactors engage when you press the petal? Does anything turn on? Does it move at all? What cuts out?
Im having the same issue on a clark tm15s. Except even on blocks, it cuts out as soon as the accelerator is pressed. Did anyone find a solution to this issue? Ive changed both directional contactors already.
Your talking about the big aluminum ones on the left side?
That's exacty what it doing, Mr fit it:?
my W.A.G. is that you have a 'leaky' (maybe all the way bad) fly-back diode. one of the 2 large stud/pigtial diodes on their own heat-sink in the chopper panel. you [most likely] would have to test it with 1 of 2 possible methods, either a "handyman' tester, or 'check by replacing with a known good one'.
When you say, "up on blocks everything works as it should" do you mean it accelerates smoothly and speeds up to a fast speed and when it kicks into high speed it keeps going ? It's supposed to trip off if it senses something wrong, that wouldn't be thermal problem.
