Guys,
Take 10 minutes and go to their corporate site and you will see the deal is already done. They sold to one of their partners but retained a 51% stake. The bg issue was the 4.9 billion they paid for Bobcat and Indy Rand...They have some serious debt and this will help them out. They are not getting out of the Lift Truck business yet.
Maybe with some dealers turning away from the brand they thought that by buying Genesis they can offer more than just a truck. Its a shame they have not listened to dealers past & present about their product and its foibles. Ready to blame other things apart from the "brand".

doosan did have some high profile customers but it seems as late that many are turning away from the brand. The Pro5 introduction after such a succesful daewoo machine was a big hick up. Original machines had issues with axles, then inching cables (some still break after a week or so even with the mods) and lets not mention software issues. early machines also suffered from lift ram seals leaking and unless replacing the whole ram wont stop. Radiators fail on a regualr basis on the g18-5 and now the market is being flooded by doosan with their cheaper chinese built gx range (just having added a new smaller chassis model) to appeal to the cheaper user i cant see things improving in the near future. What is the long term plan for them does anyone know? with their purchase of Genesis what is to become of the dealers in the southeast?

Carrylift really wants to work with Doosan and vice versa. They could work really well together - they both want to move metal and be aggressive in the market, but the move away from Nissan is too much of a risk I suppose.
Mexmast ARE leaving Nissan, though, but it's unclear if they're going to go to Doosan or not.
Doosan, though, are buying into some of their dealer network, which shows their confidence in staying with the UK forklift market.
All the manufacturers are making moves, except of course Nissan, who are still showing no signs that they are serious about their dealers or the market!
I heard Carrylift used the situation to improve their position with Nissan.
I thought it was a done deal between Carry Lift and Doosan?
Carry Lift seem to be owned by a company called Corporate Acquisitions & investment this company owns plant hire companies who use Doosan equipment. This company seems to be backed by Fred Done from betfred. They look still to be selling Nissan and Hoist equipment
for whats happening in the real world of Carrylift.... check out their website....
Same as they were --- Nissan

Carrylift never became a Doosan dealer
Well done forkinlift,go to the top of the class
