Using forklifts to push cargo

I have been told that it is bad for the forklift when it is used to push things?

Apparently, it damages the front axle or the mounting (something like that).

Anyone can verify this or comment?

It might damage your fork and carriage which might cause your fork to be uneven.
Its a forklift.....not a `forkpush......I think it says
it all
