Yes I have worked and trouble shooted toyotas since the early 4 series. The switch is mounted on the right hand of the chasis under the bolted accelerator lever. Hope this answers your question.

What switch are you talking about? I have never seen this aledged switch. I may be wrong but do you work on these things? They have a seat switch now but never had one on the pedal. Unless you have a ecs which is a whole other animal.

Thank you very much adrian_w for the explanation, it explain my doubt because some of my costumers have that problem. In first hand it increases safety but in other hand it break many loads, it´s the same problem that new Hysters.

I have worked on toyotas for seveal years and the first time the generation 7 came out our customers complained of the same problem. Under the accelerator pedal you will find a switch, this can be adjusted or shorted out. This will allow the machine to be operated the same way as the old 5 & 6 Series on its drive. Toyota have now removed this switch and fitted a seat switch.

This should not be. It has not been my experience. The forklift should creep forward in drive at idle. Ensure your idle speed is set to at least 750 rpm (I prefer 800) and that your brakes are not dragging, and also that your clutch apply pressure is within factory limits. If it is low, it is possible your inching valve is hanging open, due to maladjustment.

Unless the inching pedal is incorrectly adjusted you should not be having a problem with abrupt starts. The 7 series inching valve is actually pintle-shaped which is meant to improve the feathering of the inching function so it isnt as abrupt, but it is more critical on these transmissions to monitor the transmission clutch apply pressure when adjusting the inching function.

The brake pedal (middle) is used for regular stopping of the truck. The inching pedal on the left is used when you are approaching a rack and want to apply the brakes while gunning the engine to allow the hydraulics to work at full speed, so you can quickly lift the load.

Many drivers use the inching pedal for all braking conditions, and rest their left foot on the pedal which I disagree with. Doing this can hang open the inching valve, decreasing the clutch apply pressure and causing excessive slippage of the clutch packs which will result in increased wear and heat. I think Toyota switching back to two pedals rather than one brake/inching pedal was a good thing, for this very reason.

The first question is: Do you have one pedal or two. If you only have one pedal then the first increment of the pedal should be for "inching." Then when you go past inching, you will be into the break. Inching is like putting the transmission in neutral (essentially that's what it does).

If you have two pedal, then the left pedal is inching and the right pedal is brake.
