Check on thread Toyota 8BRU23 Fault F1 ect. may offer some insight. although not an AC truck looks like the 6BRU uses the same dash watchdog.
I have the same problem with my 7bru18. Code 61 and the truck shuts down. So it the wiring harness on the steer controller with 4 wires, steer motor brushes.
please, need help with code 59 and 41. what it means?
hello if you are still having this issue change the steer motor or change the steer motor brushes, run into this issue all the time
hey
i have a unit also throwing a code 61 sometimes it will run for awhile and sometimes it will only go a few feet and shut down........... just wondering if you can share any info for repair or let me know what fixed your unit for this problem?
thanks chad
Pull the left cover while it is coding. What are the leds doing? The wires may lokk fine but may have intermittant issues.
I have a 6BRU18 and it has gotten to the point that it will not move more than a few feet without throwing code 61. A service man from the Toyota forklift dealer couldn't figure it out and wanted me to bring it into the service center but I am unwilling to do so because if they cant fix it on site then what makes me confident they can fix it at all. After reading your post I checked the 4 large lead plug and all seems good. Do you have any other suggestions?
The leds on the controller will show codes when the truck is coding out only. You may want to try the big connector with the 4 wires in it. I have had issues with them loosing up on the connections and creating huge problems.
no codes from controller and will still fault at times.
It is a steer error. Pull the cover on the right side of the drivers compartment. The steer controller is in there and there are leds that also give you codes.
Have an unit doing the same thing. Will work fine for several days and then start throwing code 61. I believe its in the steering.
