Discussion:
Wholesale Forklifts??

Does anyone know who to contact or where to go to get good used late model equipment? It seems in our area these units are not readily available. I know there are companies that deal in lease returns, etc. but we cant seem to locate any information on them. We have customers that are currently looking for this type of equipment but cant provide it to them due to the lack of late model units.

Stars and Stipes for the benefit of us English ( we used to rule a third of the world ) how do you do your rental biz. So start with a 5000ib capacity truck with a capital cost of $ 21000 and the customer wants an agreement with maintenance over 5 yrs working 2000 hrs pa. how do you fund it ? Do you build in a repurchase undertaking ? How much maint ? How much does the client pay ? what happens at the end of the term ? How much is the asset worth after 5 yrs ? Do you sell it or re rent the truck ?
Would find your answers interesting and wondered if it was a regional thing ? I have met dealers from Europe who cant get their head around RENTAL.

I (of course) would like to also offer up my favorite forklift wholesaler, 'Lift South' and to tell you to contact Mike Collins or Steve Fore at 803-324-3342, as a company that has 20+ successful years as a forklift wholesaler.

You can start by contacting the asset mangers at various leasing companies. Citi-Capital sells (or did) their off lease lifts (that the dealers or customers did not wish to purchase at FMV) through a nationwide auction company, used to be Ritchie Bros.
There are dealers that are in the wholesale lift business across the US - do a google search - one company comes to mind is Russel Equipment out of Ohio, Santana Equipment from Illinois, etc
