Remove the carriage from the truck by first disconnecting hoses and chains from it, then raising the secondaries to expose the carriage. back away. then block or chain the mast to allow the secondary lift cylinders to retract free of the mast. remove any fasteners from the rod of the lift cylinder you wish to remove. fully retract the rod and unbolt the barrel, then remove it by lifting it from its perch and lowering it out of the mast.
