Komatsu FG25C-8:
Nissan engine surges.

I'm having a battle of wits with this forklift and it's painfully aware I'm under I'm having a battle of wits with this forklift and it's painfully aware I'm under gunned. I'm also not that familiar with lp fuel systems.

It has a Nissan H-20 engine that will start right up, and idle just fine, but surges anytime you step on the gas pedal. I doesn't matter whether the engine is warmed up or not.

It has an Impco ca125 air valve, a VFF30 fuel lock, a model J regulator, and a Koshida pneumatic governor. The coolant level is ok, I've put a kit in the fuel lock in order to get a new filter in it. And I've cleaned out the air valve. I've been able to find just enough info on the Impco parts to become somewhat familiar with how they work, but I can not find a darn thing on that Koshida governor.

Can anyone tell me what to look for next?

Thanks,
Scottygunned. I'm also not that familiar with lp fuel systems.

I had a problem one time were the vapor hose had a tear on the inside. took it of and looked down the hose, looked good! But when you put a vacuum on it the inside rubber would flap down and clog the hose. just a thought

Edward, tightening up the governor did indeed do the trick, however it seems as though that is letting my top end rpm's get quite a bit higher than before. Is there any way around this?

when you take the cover off the Gov, you see what holds the spring. hold the pin part so that the spring does not turn out and turn the part that looks like it was made for a wrench. turn it 1/2 turn to tighten the spring, then try it to see if that worked, if not go 1/2 turn more and try it, if that didn't do it, go 1/5 turn in the other direction and try it.

"it's not rocket surgery"
For some reason my first posting came out all jumbled up. This is a second try.
