Discussion:
Corrosion & Harsh Environment

We use Nissan IC 4,000 & 5,000 lbs. pneumatic forklifts in a very corrosive salt water environment, as a result our wiring harnesses and electonics do not standup. Can anyone reccommend an undercoating that would help prevent the ingestation of this salt laden moisture from penetrating the wiring and electronics or some other treatment that might work.

I had a similar problem with wiring and plugs corroding on machines at a caustic stripping part of a galvanizing plant so from new we packed all the conectors and switches with silicon grease and cable tied plastic bags over them. once the corrosions started you will never stop it ,the trick is to try and prevent it starting in first place.
good luck
