Has anyone ran across the Air Valve Assembly getting stuck every so often on these mixers?
We have this problem with two different customers, installed a new one, and it worked fine for a while, then a no start, we go there and find that the AVA is stuck again, not letting any air pass by. We can clean the throat, and use some spray lubricant, and it'll work fine for a couple or so months, then do it again.
We did talk them into changing their LPG supplier, and it did make it last a lot longer, but today, we get the dreaded call from our customer.
Any idea how to stop the AVA from sticking?
Thank you.

Yeah, the supply around here is terrible, we have one company that has their own tank, around two thousand gallon, and they received some fuel that had a lot of ethyl mercaptan oil in it, they have to drain their regulators every other day.
This was a common problem in the uk last year when our gas supplies were of poor quality. Not been a problem for a while but I did have to go clean one of these carbs out last week after te truck had been standing 2 weeks.
I use STP carb cleaner, brake cleaner or solvent doesnt touch the sticky tar.
That's a good idea. I'll take a look the next time we get called there.
Have you checked the breather hose from the top of the valve cover to the top of the air horn for condensation from the engine blow by can cause this it might be getting a little water inside the piston and jamming it up just a thought.
