Hyster UNKNOWN:
Identifying my fork lift

I have a forklift that I would like to identify so I can get parts for. Its in need of a tune up and I am in need of some parts for shifting from hi to low. The serial # is C5D9831R. The engine # is 227 A605, looks like there could be another number or letter before the 227 but can not read it. Not sure of the year or how much it is supposed to be able to lift. Any and all help will be appreciated.
Thanks kdub

kdub,

The Hyster serial number should be something like this, P007V01573R. Letter, 3 numbers, letter then 5 numbers finally a letter. If the C5D9831R is part of the serial number, suspect the year is 1971. Not sure without a picture. Remove floor plate and look at frame for serial number stamped into metal frame. The Chrysler 227 slant 6 was used in multiple lifts from 5000 pound to 8000 pound capacity. Good Luck

The hard to do we do right away. The impossible just takes a little longer.
