Toyota 8HBE30:
Power Steering Issues

Does anyone out there have any info regarding a fix for a Toyota 8HBE30 pallet jack? The steering is very difficult to maneuver. We have been told to replace the wheels with rounded ones. They don't exist. Is there a retrofit kit to make the unit easier to steer? Thanks in advance.

Well, as far as I know. If the pj isn't throwing any codes then its not going into backup mode. The hard steering is because you don't have power steering on this particular pj. In theory you can probably add it on. I've seen first hand a Toyota pj with and without power steering. It doesn't seem to labor intensive. Regarding the wheels, to my understanding all wheels are round...the type of compound used (color) makes a difference too.
