This order picker originally lost all power. Changed the carriage control card and had power but now hard code 50. Had Raymond tech load appropriate software versions throughout truck but still same problem. Ran test I23 and no letters on any spot. Ran the I23 dvom tests and passed all, ie., no continuity with harness points disconnected. Anybody have any Ideas?

Highly intermittent code 50 on an '06 5400. Initially replaced the overmast cables and it kept happening but I could never make it code out for me. The operator was getting bent out of shape so I ran the heck out of it for about an hour. When I ran over an exceptionally bad expansion joint in the floor at full speed the screen went dark for a split second, the brake dumped and then a code 50 appeared. I23 showed all managers communicating. For giggles I started with the power circuits and when I pressed hard on one terminal of the EPO with my meter lead I lost voltage. Changed EPO and no more 50 codes.
What was wrong with the EPO switch??
Drove me and the Raymond tech nuts for a week! LOL. I hate throwing parts at a truck. It kills my budget. 20 years experience on Raymonds and they still get me occasionally. Also, and I have this written in large letters above the I23 test in my manuals: CHECK THE EPO SWITCH!. It's not mentioned in the manual but chased my tail 3 days on a code 50 and that's what fixed it.
As for the overmast cables, we checked them both repeatedly and swapped them both out with jumpers I made up years ago for 50 code---stuck in aisle.
Glad you got it working again, nice to know thanks! I was wondering if it was compatibility issue myself.
It's the new style, latest and greatest carriage control card. It has an integrated eprom firmware and doesn't need factory programing as long as the VM is functioning. Using a sister truck all amplifiers and VM received the latest software but with the new CCC still no communication. After a few phone calls, I decided to install a new VM (not rebuilt) as I was told by another tech that he had run into this very same issue when installing the new style CCC. It appears to be NOT 100% compatible with an older VM. This could be due to the coding as there are configure options that weren't the before. Different travel speeds for forward and reverse for instance. Anyway, 3 day fix and it seems to have worked!
I have worked on the 5400 ACR Orderpickers for 2 years now, & every time I get a 50 series error code, it turns out to be Mast Cable #1 needs to be replaced.
The display showed no letters during the test? What is the serial number? Need to know what year 5500 it is. Also what version/part number is the carriage card?
