Hyster H60XL:
Fault Code

we recently changed the seat which had a different wire harness. After changing it, it kept throwing fault 524245-3 and would disable the lift. im aware the 524245-4 is the seat sensor but not sure what the -3 is. any help would be appreciated

Hi Billy,

524245-3 is : Seat Occupancy Position Sensor Out Of Range High.
The possible causes are :
Sensor ground open circuit
Sensor signal shorted to sensor supply
Sensor signal short to battery
Sensor failure
Functional failure in controller

524245-4 is : Operator Presence System Sensor Out Of Range Low.
The possible causes are :
Sensor supply open circuit
Sensor signal open circuit
Sensor shorted to sensor ground
Sensor shorted to frame ground
Sensor failure
Functional failure in controller.

In this two case, the seat sensor is in trouble. So, first, Conduct a quick visual inspection of the sensor, the plug and the harness.

And what is the difference between the 2 wire ?
Number of pins in the plug ?
Number of wires in the old and the new harness ?
