Manitou MRT 1542

I bought a used manitou MRT 1542 And I am having some technical challenges which I need some advise. When the boom is shooting out the fork automatically is tilt up without been tempered by the operator hence we cannot operate the machine with man basket. Can someone advise the cause of the malfunction. The yr of make is 1999.
