yes there is a few schools design for lift. just run a internet search for them
Ditto here. Don't know if it would hurt or help those in the industry to have a sudden influx of "semi trained" techs. I may be wrong, but personally I think a "school" should have curriculum such as time management, customer relations, proper PMs, cylinder repairs, transmission diagnosis, how to get a bearing race out of a blind hole, how to remove broken bolts, etc, etc!!
I've had the same question & have found no such school. Every tech that I've ever run into has worked for a dealer to learn the trade.
I don't know if there's even certifications from the ASE which cover lifts
