Discussion:
Vortec V6

I have a customer with a Mitsu FG35 with the Vortec V6. The starter mount broke from the block and we are trying to fix as cheap as possible. We found a used Vortec out of a 2000 chevy blazer. Does anyone know if it has the same block as our lift truck motor?

that would be a smart move being that there are distinct differences between an industrial engine and an automotive one.
The block being the most prominant one, they may look the same but they are different ;o)

As Edward said you will need the serial number. And yes these would be the marine/industrial engines. Also some of the Mitsubishi trucks the timing covers are not the same and have a different bolt pattern. I know that there were at least 3 different timing covers 2 of which fit only Cat or Mitsubishi products.

PLUS....I believe the vortex v6 in a lift truck is the GM Marine(Boat)..engine and not the automotive engine put in their vehicles, not sure if there will be a difference in them or not?

it would take the model and serial number of your truck to know when your truck was built. There are different blocks for different years.
