As stated I have a Clark TM20 electric fork lift, Im NOT positive if it is an EV1 or 100. serial plate shows it as follows

The problem I am having is as follows. The truck will turn on normal and shows 76 for battery life, I can operate the lift ie: driving, cycling the forks, lifting, lowering, etc all work normal.
Now while driving the lift Anytime I turn left, seems to be more than 1 1/2 -2 tuns of wheel (not quite sharp turns) the unit will just stop responding and the battery life will show negative, I do not here any clicking from pedal input or cycling from for to rev. If I am able to turn the wheel back straight quickly enough it will continue to operate normally. If I don't then I have to straighten wheel and cycle the key off and back on then normal operation will resume. The truck operates normal throughout right turns and forward and reverse just left turns shuts it down. I did not have any pre cursors that were noticeable before it started happening. I did check battery water levels, and charged it just to be sure it was not a dead/dying battery and this did not help at all.
Could someone please try to point me in the correct direction to diagnose or repair it? I am having trouble finding out how and where to check for codes in the OS as well as finding any type of schematics or manuals for it.

You are correct the number shown is -24. The failure is in both forward and reverse directions, so I will see if i can lift the front drive wheels off the ground and check for corrct operation there as well as checking the contacts on the switch and see if any wires came loose. If I don't see an obvious issue, do you have a recommendation for a parts supplier for these??

suspect # is most likely -24, check directional contact assembly for binding , they can be disassembled and blown out with some success but they should be replaced for a permanent fix
because each motor and each direction has it's own set of contacts, if the left turn failure is only in 1 direction, then look to the contacts,
get the drive wheels off the ground and confirm both drive motors are driving when the steering wheel is straight forward. if one is not driving, the motor or cables may be the failure.
when you say the battery life shows negative what number is it showing?
that negative sign is more than likely a code
if thats the case then i'm pretty sure this would be an EV100 system
but as was suggested you have either a switch issue in the steering angle or....
your directional contactors are not making completely
OR....
one of your motors is not working because of worn brushes
I would check the contactors first, they are the most likely suspect on those trucks since there are 2 fwd and 2 rev sets
Each motor has its own set of fwd/rev contactors
Sounds like a steering switch issue,in the back with the hood open above where the rear steer tire mounts should be two steer switches,check these....also if oyu posted a email in your profile as mine is am sure someone would have some info for you,have to post the same way mine looks as site strips out readable email addresses as a safety precaution
