10% reduction in capacity won't be far out if you can't get the correct information. A new side shift might be the best way forward.
Hi Jplayer,
i am aware of this tool. But unfortunately i need the attachment weight, centre of gravity and lost load centre before i can get and sort of calculation. I was asking if anyone had a spec sheet for this attachment.
yep thats an oldie for sure
but at this point you have a couple choices
1) use it "as is" and hope osha doesnt come around and see it
2) buy a new s/s
if its that old then maybe its time to replace it?
they arent really all that expensive compared to the fine you'd get from the dataplate missing.
besides, do they even supply parts for it anymore? consider that as well :o)
if you're just wanting the capacity of the truck with the sideshifter on it that should be on the truck's dataplate.
I also found a neat little tool on cascades website, a capacity calculator which can be found here:
https://w w w.cascorp.com/web2/orders.nsf/americas-en-capacity!OpenForm
(just remove the spaces from between the w's)
may that might be of some help
but in the end you might be better off just getting a new s/s.
I have spoke to cascade uk they say they haven't got the details anymore because of the age of this particular model.
Contact Cascade Corp. they can give you the data you are looking for. Go to there website cascorp dot com & the have contact locations for Europe
I can get a new plate from Clark but first I need some details about the sideshift attachment. I need lost load centre. Centre of gravity and weight of attachment. That is my reason for opening this post. I have no doubt Clark will supply the info. But I need to give them the correct information so they can make the relevant calculations.
Even though the has been a change to the originally equipped attachment Clark will provide one (at least in the Sates they do). If you are an authorized Clark dealer, Clark will provide you with an updated rating and a plate - there maybe a fee associated. They have a procedure & a form to fill out.
If you are not an authorized dealer you need to work thru one to get it done.
It's wasn't fitted by Clark. When Clark supplied the truck it had a rotator fitted. The rating plate has got d'reation on for the rotator. That's why I need sideshift lost load centre etc so I can get a new rating off Clark.
Isn't that something the Clark people can help you with?
