Discussion:
Toyota bulletin (?)

Does anyone have a copy of the bulletin for the lift/lower valve on Toyota 8FGU25. P/N for the replacement parts is 67609-26601-71 superceeded to 6709-26600-71.
Would like to purchase only the broken spring, and not all the pieces.
Any info is appreciated

I ordered the 67609-26601-71, the other number changes up to that number. The number change is usually used to differentiate between their suppliers.

You have to remove the control valve. The lowering spool activates a 5 volt(?) switch, which activates a 12 volt soliniod, which in turn allows for oil pressure to release spring pressure lowering the load.
If you remove the soliniod, you'll come to the 1st spring and poppet, then you'll see a hollow cigar shaped holed cylinder regulator valve. Remove that and you'll see a broken spring, thats the problem.
P/N is 67609-26601-71, 67609-26600-71 (5000lbs). There are 2 #'s listed on the parts sheet and only the second # is listed on the bulletin. I dont know if they are the same part. E-mail address?
What p/n did you order and where did you get it?

I just bought the kit for an 8 series unit that I'm working on. What is the problem that you've got that requires the spring? Mine is slow lowering speeds.

I'd be interested in the bulletin just to see what it's about. I'm not looking forward to pulling the valve apart. Does the whole valve assembly need to be pulled out or can it be done in the unit?

If you can find the approximate date the bulletin was sent out or a form number, I may be able to get it from my sources.

Do you know what year this bulletin was released?

I dont fancy looking through all of them ha ha.

I only read the BT ones & rarely bother to read the Toyota ones as luckly I dont have any Toyota trucks to look after.

Fact of the week
The origin of "love" as the score zero in tennis is debated, but two main theories prevail. One suggests it's derived from the French word "l'oeuf" (egg) which resembles the shape of the number zero. The other proposes it's related to the Dutch word "lof" meaning "honour" as players might be playing for honour when scoreless.
