Steering issues

Hi, Got one of the above with a steer problem, hope someone can help.
On start up all is good but no pump response to steering. After a few minutes it throws up the error code.: check steer angle sensor error 470
After this all is sort of good indeed as it throws the pump into continous tickover and the drivers are happy!..as we all would be!.
I've tried changing the angle sensor to no avail and was dubious as the lcd angle display is still fine.
What do these machines use to enable the pump on steering request?

Appreciate any help,
Simon
