Another thing you may want to check, does this truck have the older style Regen heatsink? Is the 1A contactor missing and the regen mounted right above the caster? Check the com cable from the regen assy to thepower card.

Fix it right!!!
Check your static strap. Remember that the reach truck and the orderpicker static strap assy; look identical, but the impregnated resistors are different, also Edward is right about isolateing the battery first and putting it outside the truck under power. Is the firm ware updated? If not you may want to try a new VFC with updated firmware.

as far as "checking the battery", first, pull the battery from the machine, and in compliance with local regulations, get all the battery corrosion from the truck, and replace ANY power cables that have been resting in that corrosion, or that have ANY damage to their insulation. Fully charge the battery, than test -each- cell with a volt meter and record each cell's voltage. check each cell's specific gravity with a good temparature compensated hydrometer. if there is more than a 10% difference between any 2 cells voltage or specific gravity readings, then you have a battery problem. next you would "load test" the battery using a volt meter and the hydraulic lifting motor stalled at the top of it's stroke (but never stall more than 3 seconds), a voltage drop of 10% or more is also a sign of a bad battery.

How's the battery?
Intermittant faults with Raymonds are 'normally' tied with poor battery conditions. Hvae you checked for shorts to frame, voltage under load, etc?

Fact of the week
The two internal cavities in our nose called nostrils function as separate organs. Each nostril has its own set of turbinates and olfactory receptors. The two independent organs work together through a mechanism called the nasal cycle, where one nostril is dominant for air intake while the other rests and is better at detecting scents.
