Discussion:
Error code 56, no hydraulics

Hi all. First time poster, grateful if anyone can help.
I have an EP16KT which has this problem: Error code 56 on startup. Main pump motor can be heard working and changes speed in response to fingertip control levers. Truck drives forward & reverse, steering is fine, but no hydraulic movement at all. Pump is definitely moving hydraulic oil through the solenoid block but it seems that none of the 3 solenoids is working. Fault was intermittent for a while but now it's consistent.

Control box switch bank is 'A' type, and if I select 'Check mode' (switch 1 on top bank ON) - all the hydraulics work, but dead slow, and main pump motor doesn't change speed like it does in normal mode.

So it kinda seems like everything works, but not at the same time. Anyone have a clue what's going on here?

Many thanks,

Andy
