Discussion:
Distributor Voltage

The distributor input cable has two wires - one for the input voltage, and the second for the tachometer output. What is the form of the input voltage - is it a straight 12 VDC signal from the battery that is pulsed internal to the distributor as depicted on the electrical schematic, or is it a pulsed 12VDC input with the pulsing done by the ECU?

In looking at the ECS, there are several high power transistors (TPD 10085A) with one having a large diode (6NA?0040) on the power pin that could be used for the pulsing circuit.

Any information would be appreciated.
