Discussion:
Won’t move forward

My forklift won't move when put into gear. Getting codes -68 and sometimes -11. I just bought this thing 2 days ago. I want to know how screwed I am or if I should just get rid of it. I bought it from a factory and they would not let me drive it with the insurance supposedly. But I saw they drive it very briefly. When I got the forklift off the trailer it worked then would stop. And work. I was just able to get it up the road 20 feet and just would not go anymore foward. I figured just the battery. Charged it up and now won't move at all. The mast is perfect though. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Update. I found a wire that looks to be disconnected, but I don't see where it would go.

Thanks
I don't think I am able to post a picture of the forklift so you can see what I see. I don't see anywhere at all where there is a wire that connect to there.

Check that the black wire isn't for accelerator pedal, if it's not you may wanna have your local Crown dealer road tech plug it in, they can tell you if it's bad or not

I think this post is about an SC4000 not a SP4000

A SP4000 doesn't have a seat belt or seat switch

Code -11 is accelerator switch is closed during power up. Possible short between CA205-3 and battery positive.
Code -68(-66) is a drop in voltage from mrc1 and mrc2. Check cable connections for both drive motors. Test both drive motors for shorts. Replace as necessary.
Hope this helps!

Yes but the code comes up as soon as you put the key on. I found a black wire that looks disconnected from something. But nothing to where it goes.

I'll admit, I'm no Crown expert, however, does all lift functions operate without codes?, When does code arrive, after engaging direction or after trying to accelerate?

Fact of the week
In May 2023, a Belgian Malinois named Wilson played a key role in the rescue of four children lost in the Amazon jungle. The young children were missing for 40 days after a plane crash that killed their mother and other adults. Wilson tracked the children's footprints, leading the military to their location.
