Discussion:
crown help! twist grip no forward for backward

Looking for some advice.

WE have a crown ride on pallet ride jack. Its an older unit but honestly a life saver.

the machine goes up and down.

the machine goes forward when pressing the red emergecy swtich.

The machine does not work forward or backwards when we pull the handle down and use the twist grips. but the horn, etc etc everything else works.

Where should is start looking ? any specific part that needs to be replaced? fuse? what part of the machine should i start opening?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I've seen the directional pot go bad inside. Usually it will throw a code along with the problem.

Check that the directional switch cam is actually closing the directional switches.
Handle harness issues were fairly common as well. Depending on which control you have, your reverser switch, (belly button) can cause this symptom.

Depending upon exactly which model you have, when pulling the handle down it activates the brake switch, which releases the brake. If the lever that activates the brake switch isn't reaching the switch, then the truck will not travel. So I'd start by checking that lever and then checking to see if the brake switch itself is good. Hope this helps.
