Discussion:
"L" on left side of dash

We just bought a used C5000 and there is an "L" symbol on the left side of the display, I can't seem to find any information on what it means. The machine seems to run and drive just fine.

On a side note: is there a good source for parts? I'm looking for a floor mat, new hood latch, a taillight, and possibly some knobs for the hydraulic levers.

Ah, that makes sense. Is the switch supposed to be on the right where the blanks are? The only switch currently is the Power/Soft switch on the far right. Do you think it might be buried inside the panel?

the letter "L" indicates that the low speed selection on the H/L selector switch for the speed selection for transmission.
Some trucks came with this option and have a switch on the console down beside the steering column that allows you to set the maximum speed of the truck. If the switch is in higher speed mode there will be an "H" displayed in that spot on the display, if low speed is selected then the "L" is displayed.

As far as getting parts for this truck my suggestion is to go to your local cat dealer and request TVH parts (if they are available for the part you want).
