Discussion:
Stop the machine and it will not restart

Hi, thanks in advance for any help on this issue.
Our Hyster H65Xm propane unit has a gremlin possibly fuel or spark. The machine will start normal but as soon as it's shut off, even after only running it for 30 sec it will not restart; just cranks. Kind of like it's not getting fuel or no spark.
Had it looked at by a mechanic and there was no spark so we installed a new coil, distributor and module. Being that it still will run if it's left for an hour I'm thinking it might be the lockoff solenoid AFC 123 on the IMPCO Model J regulator/vaporizer. I took them off and cleaned they up but I don't know what makes them tick. I guess I should shoot some starting fluid in the air cleaner opening and confirm its a fuel delivery issue in the event it fires up. Just wondering if replacing the regulator/solenoid is a good first step or if I need to investigate a wiring issue. Thought I would ask in case I'm missing something really easy.
- Propane flow is good
- No issue with the propane bottles - they are new

Replaced the impco vaporizer and it's starts every time; went with a type K instead of type J that was on there. Electric solenoid (AFC 123) was ok; lucky for me because no one local had one.

Ok, so did the starting fluid test and it will start when I spray it in. Looks like a fuel delivery issue.
